Beans and rice are a staple food in many cultures around the world. It provides several important nutrients, and is widely available in all Americas. The combination of rice and beans can be mixed like Galopinto, Casado, Moros y Cristianos or Baião-de-dois; or served side-by-side like "arroz con Habichuelas", "frijoles con arroz", and "arroz com feijão". And the seasonings may vary from region to region.
I fully understand it is a very nutritional and traditional American meal, hence the term Staple Food. However all these things do not make me like it. I do eat it on a regular basis because that is what you'll find living in South America.
I'd mentioned my negative opinion on this dish because I simply hate it and all of a sudden I got ostracized by relatives and friends on the comment sections, having made me filter the post.
What kind of society have we become? Now it is politically incorrect to express our dislikes on traditional foods?
Something like, you are Japanese so you are expected to enjoy sushi or you are French, hence you are supposed to like croissants? What world is this now?
